Do Sick People Read SharePoint Blogs?!

August 14th, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

I knew that Internet is full of sick people , but I never knew that sick people read SharePoint blogs as well! Since couple months ago, I have been repeatedly harassed by some morons who leave comments with racist content and literally insult my background. This is a technical blog and has nothing to do with politics, race, religion and what’s going on in this world! I’m politically naive and I want nothing from this life except peace for myself, which I have finally found in my second home (Canada).

I just wanted to let you sick people know that if you continue to bug me , I will publish all your comments with WHOIS information including the country code, City and the IP from which you connect to Internet. Leave me alone!

    Dude, that is truely sad!

I hope that those slimeballs leave you alone.

Keep up the great work with the fantastic info, I’m just in the process of writing a post pimping your blog.

The comments you are getting are from spam robots, not real people. (As much as we SharePoint devotees would like to think that tons of people are out there reading our stuff, that’s probably not the case!) I used to get them too on any forms on my website and blog that did not have a CAPTCHA on them. Since I have added the CAPTCHA, the problem has stopped. So, I highly recommend adding a CAPTCHA to your comments form.

    Carol,

so you think a comment like the first comment in the following post:

    https://blogs.devhorizon.com/reza/?p=558

is a spam robot generated message? eh?

I don’t like the idea of CAPTCHA because it makes it difficult for readers to leave a comment, but I am using akismet (http://akismet.com/) on the server side which rocks in catching the spams. I barely get an spam finds its way to my comments folder. Trust me , those I get are not spams :). How would an spam know someone’s nationality ? LOL

The internet is full of crazies, best policy is to steel yourself as well as you can, and don’t let them bait you. Delete the comment and pretend it never happened.

You can let it bother you, just don’t let them know it bothers you 🙂

Its unfortunate that there are people in the world with such views / thoughts. I was also the victim of many related comments left on my blog. Since we both use WordPress for our blogs there are solutions that can help reduce these kind of comments. Akismet is a good starting point.

You have my number, give me a shout and I will get you setup.

    Reza,

Sorry to hear that you’ve been getting racist and insulting comments.

Your blog is top notch – I have been learning a lot from it.

    Peace,
    Maggie

Don’t let these racist stuff bothers you, its the result of their pathetic ignorance. They haven’t met you in person (like me & others) to know how kind & supportive you are. Keep in writing & know that there are people who are waiting for your posts & learning from you.

As long as really good people exist, really bad people will also exist. Don’t let it get to you and ask yourself who’s better off: you or them… I’d say you’re much happier then they are.

Maybe things like this happen to other people too and I’m just being too sensitive about it;), but to see such things happen at my profession is really not absorbable. If I get such comments in a bar, a club or in the street, I will pass on it. Why? because I never go to a bar or club 🙂

In all seriousness, Media and some corrupted hands in westerns societies, trying to divide this world into “evil” and “sinless” territories to impose false ideas on people such as “We should be here to protect you otherwise the bad guy will eat you alive” or “there are a lot of people who hate Americans”. Com’n stop BSing people! I personally love anyone who is a decent guy (Almost all of my best friends are Jews!) and I love all gals no matter what LOL

All I know is that there are good and people all over the world and this has nothing with background or religion.

Honestly , I was so frustrated in a sense that I wanted to publish the WHOIS info to begin with , but after giving it more thoughts , I realized that if I do so , I would be doing the same stereotyping!

Nick and everyone else who took the time and supported me,all I can say : Thank you!I had no doubt about good people and that’s all the keeps me going. Thanks for reading my blog!
