took 83109 milliseconds.&nbsp; Consider using ALTER DATABASE to set a smaller FILEGROWTH for this file. <o:p><\/o:p><\/LI><\/UL><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Actions taken<\/STRONG>: Pregrowing transaction files in pair and temp databases as stated <A href=\"http:\/\/technet2.microsoft.com\/Office\/en-us\/library\/7d9c454c-9300-42e5-a79f-1064266a23931033.mspx?mfr=true\">here<\/A>&nbsp;did not help, neither&nbsp;setting&nbsp;a&nbsp;smaller growth rate to prevent a time-out during the autogrow operation&nbsp;on database server (because it is virtualized and expected to be slow)&nbsp;as described&nbsp;in this <A href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/822641\">KB article<\/A>&nbsp;.We also tried bumping up the resources on all servers, again no luck!!!<o:p><\/o:p><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Cause<\/STRONG>: Due to the inaccurate nature of setting throughput on every upgrade action, and the unpredictability of hardware performance in real time, the timeout computed during upgrade process could sometime break a legit SQL query that is just running a little longer than usual.<o:p><\/o:p><\/P><br \/>\n<P><STRONG>Solution: <\/STRONG>gradual upgrade is not your choice \ud83d\ude42 Use DB migration!!!!<o:p><\/o:p><\/P><br \/>\n<P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/P><br \/>\n<HR align=left width=\"50%\" noShade SIZE=10><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Situation: Upgrading a large site collection from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007 for a completely virtualized&nbsp;medium server farm environment.
