I tried many <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.ca\/search?hl=en&amp;client=firefox-a&amp;rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&amp;q=bluetooth+iphone+windows+7+%22Bluetooth+peripheral+device%22&amp;aq=f&amp;aqi=&amp;aql=&amp;oq=&amp;gs_rfai=\">different ways<\/a> that people have recommended to solve the issues, but no dice.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the different errors I got:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adding the device failed because it does not support this type of authentication (<a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4006\/4636669576_8e6d4d2ea8_o.png\">Screenshot<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Windows can&#8217;t connect to your personal area network.Try moving your Bluetooth enabled phone from your computer, and then adding (pairing with) (<a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4057\/4636669642_9c74aa04bd_o.png\">Screenshot<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Bluetooth Peripheral Device &#8212; No driver found (<a href=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4034\/4636062243_4917fa98ab_o.png\">Screenshot<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>The mutual authentication between the local Blutooth adapter and a device with Bluetooth adapter address (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX) failed (<a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3335\/4636669864_5e28dd57db_o.png\">Screenshot<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is how I solved the issue:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Removed the iPhone from the list of devices installed on my laptop.<\/li>\n<li>Connected the phone to my laptop using its USB cable &lt;&#8211; Don&#8217;t miss this step!<\/li>\n<li>Turned on the Internet Tethering in the iPhone and enabled tethering over Bluetooth and USB\u00a0 ( Settings&gt;General&gt;Network&gt;Internet Tethering)  &lt;&#8211; Don&#8217;t miss this step either!<\/li>\n<li>Paired them up while the phone was still connected to the laptop through the cable.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnected the cable once the pairing was completed.<\/li>\n<li>Connected to the phone using the Access Point, as shown in the Figure below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3401\/4636669480_b1874ceaf4_o.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3401\/4636669480_b1874ceaf4_o.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3401\/4636669480_2a045e8e28_m.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it! It worked on both my laptops like a champ. Also, a friend of mine who has got the same issue with his HP Laptop for three months managed to solve it by following the same instructions.
